Best Christmas :)

This year, I had the best Christmas ever!

Because that’s when I decided to get engaged to my long time sweetheart. Even though I knew for the last five years, that she is the “one” for me, the day when we actually decided to get married gave me thrills like never before. Before this day, getting engaged and married was no more than a formality for me (I guess that’s usual for every guy!). But today, I’ve realized its importance because I just can’t stop smiling. And she… I’ve never seen her happier before. She is super excited! All her chatter about what to wear, which colour, which place etc. seem kind of irrelevant to me, but they still give me some kind of inexplicable pleasure. I think it’s the feeling of knowing that I wanna grow old with her and hold her hand through everything.

I know life is gonna change drastically from this date onwards. But I’m ready and fully charged for it. Because I know I will always have her by my side. Looking forward to a lifetime of happiness……..

Pattern Prediction in Stock Market

I recently published a paper along with one of my professors from IIT Delhi.

In this paper, we have presented a new approach to predict pattern of the financial time series in stock market for next 10 days and compared it with the existing method of exact value prediction. The proposed pattern prediction technique performs better than value prediction. It has been shown that the average for pattern prediction is 58.7% while that for value prediction is 51.3%. Similarly, maximum for pattern and value prediction are 100% and 88.9% respectively. It is of more practical significance if one can predict an approximate pattern that can be expected in the financial time series in the near future rather than the exact value. This way one can know the periods when the stock will be at a high or at a low and use the information to buy or sell accordingly. We have used Support Vector Machine based prediction system as a basis for predicting pattern. MATLAB has been used for implementation.

A quick getaway to Kasauli

Driving is one of my deepest passions. I love spontaneous trips and exploring new locations. Here goes the travelogue of my "first" trip in my "first" car...

In the summer of 2008, I did a quick trip to Kasauli. We left at 1545 hrs on a Saturday and came back at 1100 hrs on the following Monday. Yeah... it was a very hectic one but my brand new Getz CRDi and my sweet girlfriend made it possible.

How I started developing iPhone Apps ?

I was introduced to Apple only two years ago when I bought my first MacBook. The experience was simply awesome. I think it’s the impeccable Apple user experience which makes one love Macs. To augment my Apple experience, I got myself an iPhone last year and there has been no looking back ever since.

iPhone provides the best user interface in the Smart Phone arena. It’s neat, clean, user friendly and fun to use. After using hundreds of iPhone apps over the past year, I realized that it would be really cool to start developing some applications catering to the features I would like to add to my own phone.

My aim is to develop apps which I myself enjoy using and at the same time enhance the iPhone experience. They can range in anything from productivity, entrainment, humor, lifestyle, or simply something to show off this great piece of technology.

Right now, I’m working the apps related to self organization, photography and traveling. Follow my iPhone Apps blog for upcoming launches.

My First Post

This is my first blog post and I'm really excited about blogging.

Let me start by introducing myself to you. I'm a complete technology freak and can't imagine life without my Macbook and iPhone. I enjoy programming and conceiving ideas to bring a new dimension to the way people see and use technology. The fun part is taking it through from scratch to the final release.

More to come ...
